The Parenting Journey program encourages mums, dads and carers to develop their confidence, competence and resilience – personally and as parents. As I raised myself and my children, each parent laid the foundation for strong family relationships.

General Parenting Classes

Virtual Groups: For the safety of parents/guardians and staff, PJ began offering groups in April 2020.

In the Parent Travel Program, small groups of parents and caregivers meet for 2 hours per week for 12 or 14 weeks. and free babysitting services at the final reunion where family and friends are invited to the graduation party. On this occasion, we recognize the contributions, achievements and strengths of each program participant.

Nutrition (group only) – Start each session with family-style meals while meeting the rest of the group.

Babysitting (one-on-one only) – You don’t have to worry about who will take care of your baby at different stages. We offer high quality childcare services on site.

Positive Discipline Association

All Massachusetts residents, no matter where you come from, no matter where you are, are welcome to the parenting journey. We work with mothers, fathers and carers from all walks of life. Storytime – weekly groups for parents/caregivers and children – 5 year old reading activities, stories and songs

Play/Learning Through Playgroups – Weekly for parents/caregivers and children from birth to 5 years, they focus on developmental areas and provide fun activities for children. And ideas for adults to help children learn through play. Areas of development to be explored include basic literacy. Introduction to motor development, science, mathematics. and engineering

Parenting Classes/clases Para Padres

Parent Group – A six-week parenting workshop for families with children ages 0-8, where parents learn what to expect at different ages. Parents also have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences with other parents on how to deal with difficult behavior and how to take care of yourself as a parent.

Family Explorers – Families with children from birth to 8 years old have the opportunity to spend time in nature at the Arcadia Wildlife Refuge. Educators offer programs aligned with the Massachusetts Department of Education framework. And it covers topics like birds, trees and insects. Transfers are available from Holy Oak. This program is held once a month on Saturday mornings during the school year.

Dating fathers – fathers, grandfathers, uncles, male caregivers and children. Learn in Motion, play fun games and learn. Physical activity and soccer games keep kids and adults moving, socializing, teamwork, and having fun.

Baby and Me Group – A weekly bonding group for parents/guardians. and infants/toddlers under 3. These groups focus on providing parents/caregivers with information on child development. Activities based on the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines are provided for infants and toddlers. Areas of development include: social and emotional development, language and communication development, cognitive development, physical health and well-being.

Act Parenting Class English

Book Buddies – One of the most important things you can do to help your child succeed in school is to read to your child. With this program, loaner books are delivered to your home every week. Child development information and ideas about learning and reading activities at home. At the end of this ten-week program, each child receives a new book to keep.

Special Reading Events – Throughout the year, Story Walks, Living Reading in a wonderful club theater and special STEM-focused events are held in the evenings or during school breaks.

Age and Stage Questionnaire – The Age and Stage Questionnaire is a screening tool to support parents’ understanding of their child’s growth and development. It can be used by all families and takes about 15 minutes to complete. There are also activities that support development.
